I have to admit that for me as a modeler the fun begins AFTER the fuselage's closed. Not that building and painting the cp would annoy me, but there are other aspects that l enjoy more. I'm not gone overboard with detailing and weathering, because at the end a cp of any WW2-fighter (in 1/48) is maybe a bit more than a dark and tiny hole. But the Spit has, in contrast to the most other fighters of her time, a hinged door that could reveal this modeler's laziness, so I did what I thought I had to do.

thank you to John. His WIP was a great help and inspiration. I just thought how to depict the oxygen hose on the starboard wall (guitar string came to mind, but I'm not a player), I read about his solution by simply wrapping wire around a -now hold your breath- wire! Mine's a bit clumsy and out of scale, but it does what it's made for: It lets the cp look busy. Additionally a placard from a spare decal sheet found it's way between hose and IP.
Control stick and colored PE for the compass housing were attached right after this pictures were made.
The port wall with the door opening. All this will hardly be seen again.
Test fit of the fuselage halves looks very promising. Going to close her up tonight.
