...the forecast isn’t looking good today. Ominous gray skies (ironically, they’re a shade of gray similar to RLM 66), 100% chance of rain, 100% humidity, high winds. Doesn’t look like I’ll be spraying any Mr. Surfacer while the bébés nap this morning. Which, that’s okay I guess. I can start weathering the cowl on the Emil today instead.

Cockpit is looking spectacular.

I like using the Black Basing. It's good to use on lighter camo aircraft. I used it on my Rafale M and I think it's one of my best.

Thank you sir! Here’s hoping it’ll still look good after I re-prime it and re-paint it with the right color LOL (I’m still pissed about that).

Yeah, see, that aircraft looks like it could be a real aircraft and what you actually did was build your own Shrink-Ray Gun and zapped it, and then put it in the trunk of your car and brought it home. That’s what I’m trying to go for, with this stuff.

Also- that looks awesome. Really great work there!

It just takes practice... that means you have to build more models... :giggles:

Man. It sure is a good thing I enjoy building models! I’d be totally screwed if I didn’t!

HAHA! Cheers to that, Carlos!

Not much to report on Gustav I tonight, except for the weather cleared up and I had just enough daylight left at dusk to spray some Mr. Surfacer 1500 on it. Trying again with the cockpit and walls with “German Grey” this time, at the next available opportunity.

Congratulations on the twilight paint work. I have been enjoying your progress immensely. We seem to have a great group of Axis and Allies subjects happening on these forums in no small part to your Luftwaffe builds. One of the best parts about SPA Modeler is its membership diversity — and I am always deeply aware of how talented and creative everyone is, and even more deeply aware of how supportive everyone is. What also amazes me is the level of research undertaken to set the scene for a build.

How do you choose your subjects and how are you researching the details? For me, I am quite taken with Kurt Tank’s FW designs which culminate in the Ta-152. I feel that the pilot and the machine are closely aligned. I feel this way about the Mustang, too.
Make more models!
