Pactra paints... I have some old figures here that I built long ago, salvaged for spare parts, and stripped of paint using the old Polly Scale (now Testors) Easy Lift Off paint and decal remover. Pactra gloss paints (Flesh to be specific) were nearly impervious to the stuff. Flats came off easy enough, when I followed the directions, but their gloss enamel... talk about some hardy stuff.

I am gonna have to “get medieval” on this... or at least old school auto mechanic.
I used LYE on that paint which says a great deal about Pactra Gloss. Tough paint. I did soften enough to scrape off a few layers.
Update: I started a Lotus 30 thread, because this is a completely different model!
Merry Christmas, Borg! Thank you for your comments! I am looking forward to German decals and an Italian body shell made with Lexan for strength! Slot cars are an area of excellence for European model building, so it is necessary to be patient for the shipping. The artists advancing slot racing are very much European and good for me to follow them. Their techniques and skills are outstanding!

The box below belonged to my father back in the Sixties—largely small plastic detail parts such as Formula 1 cars require—the exhaust stacks and snakelike piping systems, plus fuel filler caps, driver half bodies and driver heads. It was thankfully saved during the moves of childhood and adulthood. Its scratched exterior is very much a testament to a well-used part of his love for electric slot cars!
I do think my one American purchase will be a resin driver figure and body from Immense Figures in the U.S.A.

If you'd asked me about slot racing two weeks ago, I'd have said that it stopped somewhere in the 90's. You live, you learn.
I’m enjoying this project and seeing that slot cars are alive and well. I guess, like model railroads, that there is a hard core niche market out there for this hobby. One guy that I used to work with about 10 years ago was into this with his son. And there was a place near where I lived at that time where guys could bring their cars to race where he would frequent. But that business closed or moved....
