I'll be watching this Stuart. In my stash I have 2x Ji-2/MiG-15 kits and a Ji-5/MiG-17. All from cyberhobby
And I totally agree with you on getting back to basics mentality. I've been on a 1/72 kick lately and really enjoy it. I'll still build 48th but with a little less AMS syndrome.

Love that boxart!
I'm not really sure what to expect size wise, I've no real frame of reference.
This is one that I want to see! I remember when it first came out. The Communist equivalent of the Canberra. So it should be in the same general size range.
Just a thought on your MiG-21 for this project. The decal sheet shows the early “sports car” model MiG-21F type on the Fishbed. So I’d suggest looking at the recent Revell Germany 1/72 MiG-21F-13. It is perfect for the role.

Thanks Carlos!
Yeah me too - it's a kit I've wanted to build for years. Alas it won't be here until next week

So you think about the same size as the Canberra? That's cool, it should look good on the shelf then.
Thanks for the advice on the Mig-21, I take it you mean the kit below? It was the one I had in mind but I wasn't sure - i'm glad to have had that confirmed. It's a lovely kit by all accounts.

Oh yes, the Il-28 is somethng special..
Finnish airforce had also (surprise surprise) a few Beagles, used as everything else than as a bomber, as a target tugs, surveillance etc etc
Took some pics of it some years ago at the FAF museum in Tikkakoski, Finland.
and then a close-up of the Mig-21 F-13, how smooooooth the fuselage is...

I'm not surprised you Finn's had IL-28s Kari - you guys have flown everything!

Great camera installation though!

Stuart, yes, that is the Mig-21 kit that I was talking about. That will be perfect. I do hope that Revell scales up the kit and releases it in 1/48 also. Otherwise the only game in town in 1/48 is by Trumpeter. And regarding the Canberra vs Beagle sizes- looking at Wiki for the specs, the Beagle has a longer wingspan, while the Canberra is just a bit longer. So yes, definitely in the same size class.
Kari, those are some great photos. Ya gotta love the OKB Mig workmanship...

Obviously the quality control guys were sipping vodka instead of water on the job... is that camera bay really actually red on the interior?
