Looks good Stuart. Can't wait to see the build on the 72nd one too. I have a couple of 72nd Revell kits and one Hasegawa.
Don't get the Italeri kit. Its terrible

Thanks!
Just found this rather tasty image - I've never seen a standard Camo GR.1 with 'Big Jug' 2200 ltr tanks...

I've tried a new one - hopefully that'll help!
I'm onto the sanding and filling stage now!

Is that what you're planning for this one Stuart? RAF Cold War era camo and “Hindenburg” tanks?

To be honest Carlos I'm really torn - I was planning on building the 1/48 kit in Gulf War pink along with the Hindenburg tanks and the JP233s, because I really like the look of that load-out. The trouble is I'm not overly fond of the Gulf War schemes (I find the nose art a bit naff) and having seen this has got me wondering.

I also have some good AM RAF Germany decals in the stash - and I do really like that Cold War era camouflage.
Buuuuuttttt - I've also got the 1/72 kit to build.
buuuuuttttt - I've just ordered a 1/48 Tornado F.3 and Jaguar GR.1 as I'm thinking a display of 80's RAF jets would look really cool (If I chuck in a Hawk T.1, Harrier GR.3 and Buccaneer as well...)
It's nice to have these third world problems! The trouble is I have too many ideas...
... Can you get a 1/48 British Phantom?

I like the concept of continuity of the camo schemes. The Cold War NATO wraparound camo is more visually interesting than the monotone Gulf War sand or Balkan Wars monotone gray schemes. Although I really do like the Gulf War nose art myself.
And yes, there are the RAF/RN Phantom kits available in 1/48. They were originally released by Hasegawa, but I believe that Revell Germany also issued one under their label. And worse case if you cannot find one of those, you can get a F-4J and do the F-4J (UK) variant used by 74 Squadron.
Yes those modelers dilemmas...

Thanks Stik - I had thought about a J.

Well it's not that I don't like it... but I do know there are a couple of people in my house that might well object...!

I understand about the nose art objections from certain household members. Definitely stay away from the Gulf War Jaguars then... I think that those were more risqué. Of course compared to some WWII and Korean War nose art it was tame... not to mention a couple of Vietnam F-105s....
