John! When you build a cockpit, you build a cockpit! Good grief! The details are astounding! Interesting also to note that Radu instructs using primer. His PE does look a bit different in terms of its brass layer, perhaps this is to increase adhesion by etching the surface? Maybe that’s a moot point but I’m glad your narrative carries forth these details. I still have color prints I made of the very first John Kim build I ever saw, which would be the quarter scale version of this aircraft, and one of the finest quarter scale builds I have ever seen!

Thanks guys! Here's Radu's suggestions as they may be helpful for anyone working with brass photoetch...
I am looking forward to seeing this completed. If I may, I would like to offer some advice about the RB Productions photo-etched parts. When you "layer" the instrument panel and side console parts do not use superglue/cyanoacrylate. Use Johnson" Klear/Future (or whatever it is called now) for all parts that are not subjected to any load-bearing pressure. Another great product I used with great success for the same purpose is the Mr Metal Primer (square bottle, red label), which sticks well to metal and also works very well as a primer for metal in general You should always apply a "primer for non-ferrous metals" (not just any primer!!!) to photo-etched parts before painting or gluing. Mr Metal Primer is a clear "varnish" that dries streak-free and I like it a lot as a metal primer.

Academy's newer F-4's came in multi-colored plastic as well. Most Bandi kits do too.

It works well on PE pieces that lay flat on top of each other and needing nothing but gravity to hold it in place. Otherwise it probably wouldn't work.

Playing around with the PE side consoles to see how they fit. I'm keeping the option of using the kit side consoles if I can't get the PE to work. So far, so good!
