1/48 A-7B VA-93

All things jet, no props and Stik...no armor even though the M1 is turbin powered.

Thank you Stuart. It’s coming together ok so far. I’m loving the subject, but this kit sure leave quite a bit to be desired. But knowing the history of the molds, I don’t mind.

So today I had some alone time at the bench this afternoon and did a bit of work for major progress.

I glued the IP in place onto the cockpit tub and then submitted it to Klaus for inspection

and I actually had glued the jet exhaust nozzle in place the other day but had not taken a photo until now

Image

and I also glued the intake and cockpit tub into place

Image

and finally, some real progress.... the fuselage halves glued together...

I can already see that I have some serious filling and seam clean up ahead

Very cool. I just got the 1/48 Hasegawa kit. One of my favorite planes of all time. The photo with the toilet bomb was a skyraider right? Also is that bad photoshopping or is the guy in the pic really tiny... anyhow, following
Thanks,
John

Thank you. The Hasegawa SLUF is a beauty of a kit, I have one in my stash as well. I’ll probably do mine as a Libya raider from 1986. I also have the ESCI/ ERTL A-7E kit as well, which I tentatively plan to build as an A-7C. Yes the toilet bomb was a Skyraider. The guy in the background on the left looks to be leaning on the centerline tank of an A-1 in the background.

I’m glad that you’re tagging along on this build.

Always a great feeling when the fuselage comes together - and that cockpit looks great Carlos!

Thanks Stuart. Yes it is a great feeling to get the fuselage together. The cockpit is ok, and good enough for what I want to achieve here. I had to really fight the urge to dress it up and make it better... but then I’d end up with another long drawn out project which is exactly what I do not want... :headslap:

Yay! Looking good. How is the hobby room coming?
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanks Lyle. No progress in the hobby room for now... The funds for that are a bit in the future... right now it’s just holding my stash and builds in their Tupperware bins... :bored:
