You are too kind. I do appreciate your support and wisdom.

Now, why am I getting tip-dry on the airbrush? It hasn't happened in a long, long time. Using Tamiya X-2 Gloss White, thinned with X-20A and / or 91% ISA. I had a fine tip / needle in it and replaced that with the original one and still it would not consistently spray. Right now, it is getting a good cleaning in the ultrasonic cleaner.

They look very similar to the I-16 Type 10 except without the hatch.

Looking good Lyle and what a great subject!

As far as the hatch goes - I'm not sure what variant of the Gee Bee you're building but the Z had a removable canopy that was bolted over the pilots head.

If you have a copy of 'The Rocketeer', it has an awesome opening sequence featuring the Gee Bee that shows how the canopy was attached.

I also found this...

Edit

Ah okay, so some further research would show that the Lindburg kit is an R-1/R-2 which was a follow on from the Z model above - that does appear to have a hatch, as shown on this replica.

But to be honest - just ignore it!

Hey, Stuart! Thanks for these. Fun to watch. I decided to bot worry over the hatch. Nothing is scribed, and the plastic is so soft, besides wrestling with mental blocks and that coyyon-pickin’ “hood” piece is keeping me occupied.
