That's it! :ballbat: Time to jump on the bandwagon and start my 1/72 scale Millennium Falcon!
Going to light her up?
Oh no. I haven't the skill or resources to get a kit to do that. No, mine is gonna be a simple OOB build.

Happy Easter Bruce! These are truly some fantastic photos of this model. I cannot wait to see you paint this!

Marius, welcome aboard! I’m curious as well how to best adhere everything together once printed.

Tolerances between resin and filament appear to be fair, although Clint is certainly much more versed in a direct reply. I believe resin was chosen specifically for the level of detail. My other concern is sanding the command ball. I have very little experience with sanding a 3D printed piece whose outer shape must remain round.
I would of liked to have printed everything in resin but this build is way to big for that so anything small enough to fit on the build plate got printed. As for assembly everything fits together very snug and is keyed to fit in the correct position. I would use CA glue for most parts and 5minute epoxy to assemble the wings. For finishing 3D prints I would use the same procedure with uv resin like I did for the DL-44 blaster.

Great video on using uv resin to finish fdm prints:

Looks like you have quite a bit of smoothing to do. The downside of large 3D printed items.

My latest update from Floki concerns the pilot figure. Having found a close approximation on eBay, I was bowled over to see this incredible improvement designed by Clint. He took a TIE fighter head and torso and shrank it to 1/24. Brilliant.

No problem, Tom. I ordered those products from Amazon, if that helps.

What an outstanding project. The world of 3d printing takes more and more room in our hobby. Do you know that Doogs recently printed a Tie Interceptor in 48th scale and made a video series about it?
