That's really well re-sculptured Bruce, top!

Thank you so much, Kari! I am using the ancient, time-worn toothpick method. Seriously, using a dental pick proved to be too sharply defined. I think these ridges began as slightly sharper lines but over the 50-plus years of molding and retooling, changes in appearance resulted. Or the original sculptor used a toothpick, it was Aurora. The company was known for its thrift.
I’m in Facebook conversation with several builders including long time model makers who owned the original kits. They have assured me that the bent leg fit has always been incredibly poor. What a task. I’m still not finished blending Kong’s back completely but I thought it was time to press on!
Velocity! That’s what keeps us building!

Brilliant work Bruce! I can't tell where the model ends and the patchwork begins, except for the color! Man, that is gonna disappear under primer and paint.

Duke! Medic! Thank you both. The resin replacement head arrived. I already glued and fitted it to the body; and King Kong will stand on his own! I’ll drag out my light box and take some proper photos.

The resin head looks good! Is it hollow or solid cast? If it is solid, you’re going to need some weight in the feet or base to balance the figure.

Thanks, Carlos! TGIF. Done and added weight inside his legs earlier. He’s free standing in the photo.

Fangs added separately. Man, he looks angry.
