The last thing I did last night before heading to bed was install the twin booms on. I've grown to love this vintage kit, warts and all.

I do want to get the Tamiya Lightning kit. Saw Plaza Japan has one for $30 compared to scalehobbyist price of $70. I may jump on it even though shipping might be a bit pricey. I've ordered from Plaza Japan before and was happy with it. Yeah, it takes awhile to get here but worth the wait. Check out Plaza Japan site. They've got some cool stuff there... even food item kits. LOL! I kid you not...

Medic would like this site. They've got Raiden stuff. You know... from the arcade video games.

Nice. :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:

I’ve decided I’m gonna paint this one a very light blue photo Reconn bird.

I’ve got some Testors Sky Blue in those small square bottles and mix it with some white until I find the shade I’m looking for. I will spray the whole bird in black as my base coat and slowly build it up to the desired look I’m seeking to achieve.

Ready for black base prior to light blue.

But first... a nightmare revisited from my youth years.

It fought me just as it had in my youth years to glue the nose on. Just as I expected... gaps. Fixable now than back then. Out came the PP Putty and left to dry overnight. Wet sanded off the excess tonight. Not terrible but passable enough for me to continue on.

With the Mig 21 on standby for paint and still looking for replacement canopy parts, it was time to finally lay down the light blue color on this bird. I mixed Testors Sky Blue (small square bottle) with a lot of white. I mean A LOT of white. I finally got the shade I was looking for. Here it is on top of black as my base coat. I purposely sprayed in a couple light coats from a distance of about 6 - 8 inches away. The propellers are also done. Next, the fiddly bits and a coat of gloss clearcoat for decals when I can find them.

yeah, what they said...but, my goodness that is odd looking.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
