Duke Maddog wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 4:50 pm Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing your tank transporter done Stuart! I've already built nine tank transporters in 1/72 scale; everything from the tiny MACK truck used t haul FT-17's all the way up to the massive M1070 tank transporter used to haul Abrams tanks. They break down into: two German, one Russian, five American and one British. I'd post pics but they were all wiped by my wife when she formatted my drive without backing it up first.
ouch!!! That sucks. They all sound really cool Mark. The only one I have in 1/76 is the Scammel from Airfix.

With a Leopard 2 on its back it'd be fricking cool!

That's awesome - that would look so cool with Leopard 2 on the back I agree!

Hobby Boss do this one, if you want Cold War. Again, with a Challenger or Chieftain on the back, that would looks awesome.

Fantastic build here. https://finescale.com/product-info/kit- ... mi-trailer

Ok, compared to the US one, this one looks kinda........well European. The US one looks all big and bad.

I'd like to say all of them  :whiteflag: but probably initially I'll go for one of the WWII ones - I'll hopefully get one for my birthday in May.

:ballbat: :giggles:

I can't actually argue with that - the US one looks badass, which is obviously why the British Army's got them too.

To be fair to the old Scammel Commander though, it was in service in the 80's, so it's kind of a earlier generation. It's actually quite unusual to have a bonneted European truck. I guess the Army didn't care about length restrictions lol!

I'd love to get a kit of this beast, a Scammel Crusader for my old Centurion tanks.

Yeah, those last two British trucks I would love to see in my scale. It seems modern British tank transporters are not worthy of Braille Scale while we have a plethora of US and Russian ones with a couple German ones thrown in. Now if I can get British markings for an M1070, I'll build one for my British Army.

Man, I'm getting fired up to start some tank transporters again. I have three, possibly four in the stash to build.... :whiteflag:

lol! Glad have been an inspiration Mark! :lashed:

You could just paint the M1070 the right shade of Green and forget the markings.
