Actually for the practice more than anything else. I'd like to do some of the open topped anti-tank guns like the hellcat etc. at some point, so learning a bit about painting an weathering interiors won't hurt.

Thanks Carlos, appreciated. I've been told that already by another chap and to be fare to Gecko, they say that in their calls outs as well. Any thoughts as to what the gun breech would be - they've not really mentioned that.

Gun breech colors on tanks can go one of two ways: 1, the same as the interior color, which here would be aluminum; or 2, the exterior color as built, so depending upon when the gun for the tank was on the assembly line, the color in use at that time.

Here is a view into the turret of a Valentine tank and the 2 pdr, breech appears to be in aluminum.

Yes, that is the same 2 pounder gun that was standard of British tanks until the 6 pounder came along in late 1942 on the Crusader and Churchill. Roughly equivalent to the US & German 37mm gun in performance, aside from lacking an HE shell.

Still working away on this - although I'm having to jump around a bit so I can get all of the interior built up ready for paint. Overall it's been a fun little kit. The fit's not superb, but good enough once it goes together.

Thanks Lyle! Tracks are a pain, but a necessary evil I guess. I'm still fond of band tracks in some ways. I'm looking forward to seeing how the tracks on this go together.

I like the band tracks for the most part. The ones on the M-10 (1/48) have, for each side, two long pieces of hard styrene for the top and bottom and then 4-6 single tracks to fill in the curved areas. What could possibly go wrong with this idea?
