Sweet! I had a 71 Camaro for awhile, but after having an E-Type for so many years it just didn't do anything for me, and the T-Top always rattled.

That's a good looking Mustang, Declan! :shoutout: They were sweet cars and several of my high school friends had first generation Ponys. Man, I've spent many happy hours in one of those! Heh, heh, he said "happy hours"; yeah, spent some of those in Mustangs too.

Thanks guys!
Some updates:
Positive and negative battery wires added, water bag, horns are painted, I have started on the brake lines. chrome needs some touch ups. I corrected the wires to be black, from the grey there were before. Silverado had mentioned that they are wrapped in electrical tape, so i painted them black. I have to finish the soft top, do the chrome around the base of it, mirrors, headlights, the cross brace for the engine bay,

Thanks Stuart,

Everyone, I ruined the paint. I tried to do some touch ups where I had rubbed the clear coat away and burned through paint, but for some reason the hue of the paint was different second time round??? completely different tone and it looks miserable. Even under clear coat, it's still a different color entirely. I have to take a break from this one because of this. I don't know how to fix it, and I don't want to look at it.

I don't have anything else on the bench or even in stash really, and I was really looking forward to this one coming out well so this is quite a disappointment to me.

Sorry to hear that. It is a pain in the hoo-hah, but if you can seperate the body from things, you can strip it and re-do the paint. It will keep you off the street.

Thanks Lyle,
No hope separating the body, soooo I just did some taping and sprayed right on top. I fixed it! for the most part, there are two finger marks that appear on the surface, only one of which I am going to care about. The one on the hood is very visible to the human eye, I had a hard time capturing it on camera, so I circled the area in the photo. The one on the side on the door panel is less noticeable, but I did have some splotching on the opposite side, shown in pictures. Clear, polish and re-chrome and I am done!

Nice save Declan! Paint looks good. I would recommend looking at pics of the steel Mustang wheels and trying to mimic that. You can do most of it with different washes.
