I did some Dauntless but they are ...smaller

Those kits did indeed have their flaws. So much so that there was a good amount of published "tricks" to make them a little easier to build. I've got the information somewhere but I ended up building one of those first edition 190's. Once I found out the fixes for the engine firewall and wing root gap issues as well as straightening out the warped wings, it actually ended up not being all that bad.

My first edition 190 met the hammer. Oh yeah... I was pissed and frustrated. Did get the newer Eduard version for same aircraft.

I hear ya Tom. There were a good number of folks who were more than perturbed at Eduard for the problems with that kit. I put a lot of time into studying the problems and remedies which made things a lot easier to assemble the whole thing. If a builder is trying to build a closed-up version of this kit, then it's nearly impossible. The beauty about this version is that for folks like me that enjoy building aircraft all opened up, it's a perfect offering. It's almost as though Eduard planned it that way.
