Someone uploaded a pdf report of 46 aircraft. I found one Fokker 7 so far. No skis in the photo but in the other types I could clearly see skis. I could be wrong, though, I think they were sold two unarmed for acrobatic purposes and I think one crashed; I can’t easily translate the historical context, Kari.

Thanks Bruce. Yeah, I’ve seen this PDF file. The translation/interpretation went slightly wrong—they were not bought for aerobatic purposes, but for the air force, used mostly for training purposes. The mix-up with "aerobatic" probably comes from the fact that the Fokker D.VII was the first Finnish Air Force plane to do a loop. :-)
Unfortunately, most of the information regarding the Fokker is only in books; no one has uploaded it to the internet yet. Next time I visit Finland, I’ll visit a few antiquarian bookstores and hopefully find a few good sources.
But thank you Bruce doing research of this rather interesting topic, very much appreciated!

Work continues with some kit bashing...
The Fokker D.VII version that I have, differs slightly in the front.
Luckily the Eduard kit provides four (4 !!) different fuselages, so by doing some sawing and cementing, I should be able to get closer to the real one.
These are the two fuselage halves for this project, but the cowling profile on the right half doesn't line up with the left half.
But one there is one (!!) fuselage half, that has almost the correct cowling profile:
After several rounds of trimming, sanding and test-fitting, the fit is finally good enough.
Putty, sanding, primer and paint should hide the scars of the surgery nicely. At least, that is the plan!
Time to continue with the cockpit!

Hi Kari,
Thank you for being so kind and helpful. I’ve had the all white weekend version of this kit in my evilbay shopping cart for many months. I’m hesitating because it’s Göering’s personal aircraft and my grandfather would not approve of glorifying him.
Old Eduard biplane kits are stunning. Ditto the old Copper State Models in 1/48. The new CSM has copied Wingnut Wings a great deal in design and packaging at 1/32.
It’s a great time to build WWI subjects.
And this is a pleasure to watch.
Thanks!

Great suggestion, Kari. I hadn’t thought about that and it’s really quite obvious, really.
I meant to ask which razor saw or saws are you using above?

Thanks Bruce,
This one, I don't remember if the handle had some brand. The razor saw blades are Artscales.
I have replacement blades
somewhere, but cannot find where

Looks almost exactly the same as Radu’s saw! Thanks.
Radu hobby saws are precision, photo-etched stainless steel micro-saw blades created by Radu Brinzan through RB Productions for scale modeling and fine crafting.

Thanks Bruce, I think the handle comes Marks miniatures, but looks and probably quality as well equals the one from RB Productions.
