Thanks Manny. The base is supposed to represent a portion of a simple dirt runway or field in Bougainville. It's made out of real dirt actually....nothing special.

Nothing wrong with the execution, I just find that bases rarely work with aircraft. Also, IMO, you broke a cardinal rule of having a base smaller than the subject matter...

Pretty slick!!!

I think the base is alright. If it were a full blown dio, then yea, the base should be bigger than the plane.
The only thing I'd do different, would be to have the plane more angled rather than "in line" with the base...but that's just me. Anyway...I like it, it looks good! :kissing:

Think "pedestal" not so much "base". I generally do these to keep them from getting damaged, and the plane can be held by the base instead of the plane itself. The ground cover is just added for realism. Agreed, a full dio would get a larger base such as Boyington's Corsair.
