Monty, that is a super, neat-o solution to the engine length issue. Looks great!

If you are in for a radical conversion you could try to turn it info a US-1. That is the newest version with six bladed props.

Interesting to see this one being built. I had a chance to buy one several years ago but was pretty sure I had NOWHERE to display it at the time.

hi Borg - yep, saw that US-2, and even a video of the aircraft taking off. really neat looking A/C. Looks like i am still a puppy on the conversion bit, and will stick to the old PS-1.

Hi Vance - Its been on my stash for a while too. still figuring out what to do. did a few cutting but was insignificant. I was cleaning out my pile of boxes a while a go when I saw the box and said well what the heck, lets do it!

Thanks Lyle. I made an extension on my C-130H with styrene and man, it was painful. probably i didnt know the tricks yet. then I went on working to extend the engine nacelles of a C-130J for a friend. this time using resin - that was messy. so i am glad this works out fine (for now!).

putty time. using my trusty Tamiya epoxy putty. no problem so far, just needing to wait till the putty hardens and then sanding. i will have to let go of the nacelle's surface details from the sanding, sadly. and will need to rescribe.



Meanwhile, sanding the upper fuselage. its a mess. what I usually do is that after the first phase of sanding, I coat the area with a thin layer of super glue...wait for 10 minutes and and sand smooth.

Tremendous work Monty! I am amazed at the excellent work you're doing to fix this. I have one of these in the stash and since I'm even more of a Puppy when it comes to scratchbuilding and fixing things; I'll be building mine out of the box. I do hope to start this in the beginning of the new year once I finish a couple other large aircraft I have in progress. Another Forums I'm a member of is doing a Group Build of floatplanes and I'll be starting this one for it first. Later, if I have time, I'll also do a Martin Mariner that I also have in then stash. Meanwhile, I'll keep watching this one.
