Sorry about the masking blues Lyle. Glad to see that you are moving forward through it all. I'm with John on the Eduard masks. LOTS better experiences with those than the ol' Montex masks. I really don't know how those folks are even still in business because of things like this happening to folks they learn pretty dang quick NOT to buy any more sets from those guys.

Thank you, Joe. I appreciate you stopping in. Regarding the Montex masks... it seems I do not/did not learn. I just went through my aftermarket drawer looking for something and found 4 or 5 sets of Montex masks. I am so slow, that I do not run into the pitfalls until too late. I got them because of the black material on the white backing. I can barely see the Eduard stuff.
The turret is sort-of-kind-of-almost done. I have a few small spots to touch up, then i'll put a fork in it.
Scanned, doctored and used the Silhouette cutter to make some white decals. The kit decals are iffy and about 1/2 or more, okay, most are coming apart to some degree. The issue now is getting six little, tiny pieces of decal film to line up without disturbing the other little tiny pieces. .
Here is the number 8...

Looks like your #8 came out pretty dang good Lyle. No worries on slow building......I build about as slow I'm afraid.
I rarely have any longer than 1 hour at the bench but you can be sure that I always make the most of it.

I usually get down to the Piddle Palace between 8:30 and 9:15 in the AM. Down here until noon or a bit after. For some reason...(mind wandering, being totally fuddled, lost, stumped, on here ...pic one or more) there are days not much gets done. But is a fun hobby, right?
Done with this. Time to go eat leftover Pasta Primavera and make a trip to the grocery. and, I ain't a-wearin' no stinkin' mask.

Oh come on... it’s fun to wear a mask to the store or bank! When are you legally going to able to do so again without scaring the piss out of everyone inside if you walk in wearing a mask?

Tail decals are looking good Lyle. I've never used Montex masks before but have used vinal windscreen masks from another company and had problems.

Thanks, Clint. That was 12 pieces about the size of a grain of rice. I’ve used Montez before with minimal trouble if I remember correctly.
