John: Yes sir. I've got me a plan. Initially this was another reason that I shelved this build. I simply cannot stand how Hasegawa engineered this kit but have dealt with far worse from the classic Revell auto kits of the 60's, 70's and 80's for the last few years so I am merely treating it like one of those kits. Borg: This style of airbrush works great for area coverage.

John: I've noticed that on the only remaining example still in existence that there is NO panel line visible directly behind the glass enclosure which I find very odd. Drawings and artists impressions tell a different story which again is confusing. In looking at one photo however, I found evidence to support the fact that there is a visible panel line behind the cockpit area which makes more sense and I'll feel one heckuva lot better about doing things the way I'm gonna do 'em.

Fit looks good! I can' tell from the angle and the clear plastic but it looks like you have a possible overhang/step? I'd recommend painting at least the edge of the clear parts to get a better view of the join.
