Medic....if you get only one detail walk around book in your life for the F-4B/N/J/S then all you will need is: DACO Publishing - Uncovering the US Navy F-4 B/J/N/S/Q Phantom II (No. 4) by Danny Coremans, 2010 (in color) & only five left on Amazon. This book covers conventional & drone Naval Phantoms & I feel that this is the best book covering details I've ever seen. Seeing as though the current retail for the hardcover is now at $736 . I bet you'll want the $56 softbound..lol. The D&S book by Bert Kinsey is a good resource as wellt, but most of of its pics are b&w. There are many more as I stated previously but they won't be cheap. Most of these books have been out of print for years & Amazon will want you're first born in exchange. You could check eBay, too. Another good b&w reerence book will be the declassified NATOPS reprints for F-B & F-4J which covers the N & S respectively. I have a few thousand of military aircraft books, but if you need intel that's not readily available I can probably locate what you need. Just check & double check your references for the particular jet wou're replicating. And, finally, the -J had the Shoehorn package that was later retrofitted to most -B (the original examples off the assembly line did not) installed. HTH.

Warpig, you are filling a slot here that desperately needed filling after our member Rex passed away not too long ago. You may have crossed paths with him on other modeling sites. Well, a big 'ole thanks to you both for the compliments. I 'preciate it. I talked to Rex a few times probably over at the ARC or Zone-5 forums. I concur that he is a beacon of knowledge & good gent to chat with. I did not hear of his death until I joined the discussions on site. I'm obsessed with he Phantom phamily, however, I maintain nerd knowlege of other US mil jets & props from different eras & the different brands of kits on the markets to replicate those various airframes in scale. Mainly Vietnam to present. Anytime you think I might be of any assistance, just send me a line. I enjoy having these discussions.

Well it’s good to know I’m not the only jet guy on here. I’m like you but more on the modern side of jets especially A-10’s and F/A-18’s.
