Yup, rain, rain, rain...

I was awakened around 3am by some thunder overhead as the rain started by my home. When I left for work at 5am it was a patch of clear starry sky out up above. But then rain most of the way for my drive to work...
Interesting about your situation with the plastic and the glue on this project. You might want to think about some of the “hotter” plastic cements like Pro Weld or Plastiweld. Tenax was a great product for these situations, but I think that has been discontinued. I had to use that stuff on an early Trumpeter T-54 build years ago, as their plastic on that kit was impervious to everything else... But aside from conversion kits, that was the ONLY way to get a T-54 in 1/35 back then.

Thank you so much, Clint and Carlos! I appreciate your ideas. I am about due for a supply run so I will look into the options you suggest. I was wondering about the UV glue pen, too. Kari, Thomas, Torben and John use variations of this device for specific uses... or at least I have seen the UV glue pen being used on their projects in various ways, which makes me curious, too.

I'm sorry I guess I misread your question, I thought you was asking about seam filling. On plastic glue I used Tenax but since I can't find it anymore I started using the flex-i-file brand stuff it isn't as hot as Tenax, since I don't think anything is, but I like it better than Tamiya's offerings.

Clint, You answered my question! Not to worry. I need to try Perfect Plastic Putty, for sure. I was worried that if I keep grinding and using CA mixed with styrene dust if I was going to screw up the wing assembly. Does PPP help adhere pieces together? As much as I love Milliput I have found no joy in using Milliput to join styrene together. As a filler Milliput is amazingly easy to sculpt. I know what Carlos was wondering about was initially the glue used. I do use Mr S but he may be right the formula needs to be hotter, of the MEK variety. Please accept my thanks for your answer!

In my limited experience with PPP, it is a water soluable filler. I've not seen evidence that it will bond plastic. Homemade liquid styrene will....

Yeah I wouldn't depend on it by itself to bond plastic but as a narrow seam filler I find it to be the best. Milliput is great so is epoxy sculpt but can't find it in my area anymore.
