I think I see what you're talking about up top there Lyle. What you can do is use a combination of BMF and Molotow. Check it out:

I did the exact same thing with my El Camino:

Can't see where the BMF stops and the Molotow starts can ya? The combo works like a charm.

Joe is right. I do that on mine, properly applied Molotow looks just like chrome, sometimes even better than foil.

Thanks Joe and Lee! I did that and it does look a lot less "clunky", so after it cures for a day or so, I'll finish up the BMF and clear coat it. I guess I'll use the Spaz stuff for the clear.

DONT use Spazstix for clear coating the whole vehicle. If it were me I'd clear the body without the Molotow with what ever clear is compatible with the base color and THEN come back over with the Molotow in the places that you need it.

Okay, but why?

Wonder if I can decant some to brush over the Molotov? Can I spray the normal clear over the Spazstix?

Here's what you do brutha Lyle. You can always re-apply the Molotow over your clear coat but the reason that the spaztix works so well with Molotow is it's pretty much just for Chrome only. I've shot a test clear coat over paint with Spaztix and was NOT impressed. Use a clear that is a known compatible with your color coat first. After you've got your clear coat on, allowed it to cure for a few days and done all of your polishing and sanding, THEN use the Molotow over the areas that you need it. If you feel the need to go over the Molotow with the Spaztix then you can always just lightly brush over the Molotow areas only. At this stage....don't take chances.

Your car looks good so far by the way.

yeah I've never used clear over Molotow. The key with it is plenty of dry time and little to no touching lol.

I always learn something new here. Molotow through the airbrush is one I have not tried yet. I like that they blend together. Stored away for future use.
Now that we know that.... What have we learned?...
