Currently the night shift at the bench.

While I was waiting for the paint to dry on the Viper, the twins returned to the bench (well they actually never left). Getting the loadouts settled. One will be a A/A and the other A/G. Need to clean the weapons and tanks up before priming them.

One thing that's always bothered me with peoples Super Hornet builds is the position of the stabilators. I've seen these great builds with the flaps down, canopy up, and remove before flight pins everywhere. But when Super Hornets are parked and now under power, the stabilators droop down at the back. Now I didn't drop mine as much as I would have liked but there's not much contact area to the fuselage. I only wish I could have dropped the flaps.

The flaps and stabilator droop when parked is a visual mark of when the hydraulics bleed out pressure after system shut down. Certainly a great detail point on your build.

Yep. Just wish I could have dropped the flaps too.

Good to see the Hornets on the Bench again Mike - the tail position looks good.

Thanks Stuart! I'm finding a few spots that need further attention.

I used some AK Black Widow super glue to fill a couple of small gaps in the nose area. Sanded it this morning and it's all good. Just need to rescribe some panels, re-prime and this one will be ready for paint. Now to work on the other one.
