That seat is looking good. Been working a lot and coming home, shower then pass out hopefully in that order lol. I have been following your progress and the amount of knowledge from everyone on this forum is unbelievable I'm so happy to have found this place. Unfortunately I wasn't able to I tried a recovery program and that failed so I reformatted the card but it was still causing a error message so went and got a new one.

Sounds like my life as well, Clint, lol. I have trouble remembering that I made dinner thirty minutes ago... or the tea that I made an hour ago is still steeping... yikes. I am over the moon that you are here as well! Sorry to hear about that drive, though. Sometimes the bear...

RLM 66 over RLM 66 eh? That's a new one but hey, the seat looks good! Can't wait to see color #2!

Color No. 2
John, Thanks so much for your encouragement. Seeing how you motored through painting, masking and decaling of Yellow 3 (Congratulations on all three!) was inspiring in many ways. The Humbrol flat colors still have a bit of a sheen to them which is quite nice. I brushed on two tans—the lighter of the two was a good starting point.

Seat looks awesome! The seat belts will probably cover most of the seat pad... just saying! If you want to match the Eduard color... add purple!

Good point about the purple, John!

Kinda humorous comment... kinda not. I hate that color and I hate straying from what I feel is an accurate RLM66 but if you don’t, the IP stands out like Barney the Dinopanel.

I think Eduard got their RLM66 issue solved with their new(ish) steel belt and löök IP series. But I still have plenty of Luftwaffe PE sets flying around with that coarse-grained, purple tinted color on it.
Great progress, Bruce! I really like what I see here.

TGIF TO ALL
John, Torben and Ken (who wrote from Messenger), I want to thank y’all for your support. I am so used to observing you folks in action, taking action on this project was a good reversal of roles. It was also good to start small. I noticed my first two photos are softly pixelated. Apologies, gents. I took this “giant hand” snap last night. I am glad I did because there is still a molding seam line I need to address.
I just wanna ramble a bit on a Friday—I sincerely appreciate everyone here for being so kind. I do. It’s a rare commodity in my opinion, sadly. As I wrote above, there is a big difference between the observation of other builders and being a builder. I am glad to have been bitten by the need to build again. Maybe I left the “modeling doldrums” Torben wrote about. That resonates within me, bud.

I’m holy you pulled the trigger on painting the cockpit and seat! And I like the work you’ve done with the thinned enamels on there as well. To me, that’s ballsy. I use oils because they’re so gentle. Enamels, that’s a man’s paint right there.
I’m glad you’re building, and I’m glad you’re building this particular aircraft.
