I thought I would add a bit of relevance to my Forum user name. After an injury I found myself going through a total of 10 surgeries since 2006. After being placed the label of "disabled" I was told by some family to get a handicapped plate for my car so I didn't have to walk so much. I can still walk and get around; I would rather someone who doesn't have a choice in the matter to have the better spot. My answer to them was I'm not handicapped, I'm handiabled..... there you go.... I rebooted into the hobby again to keep my mind and hands busy.
1. First model kit?
If I recall correctly it was a Revell 1/535 USS Missouri on Christmas eve when I was 8 or so. I built it the very same night waiting anxiously for morning to come.
2. Preferred scale?
I pretty much stick to 1/32 scale in aircraft. It's much at adding extra detail, but have done plenty of 1/48 as well.
3. Preferred subject or subjects?
I like to stay in the WWII era with prop and jet aircraft in either Axis or Allies
4. Favorite model built to date?
Military aircraft, but have done military armor and automobiles. That question is rather tough as my interests are pretty broad based. Every once in a while I find it's good to build a kit that is out of my "comfort zone" just to keep the creativity going.
5. Hardest model built to date?
It was a kitbash of a 1/32 Tamiya and Revell RF-4C . I replicated an aircraft that a friend of mine flew in Vietnam 1969.
6. Holy Grail kit?
It would probably be one from my childhood that is a bit harder to find now like a Revell Cousteau's Calypso. I had one back then but I never finished it and it was destroyed many moons ago.
7. Favorite kit maker?
Tamiya. Go figure. No drama builds and great fitting consistently.
8. Favorite glue or glues?
CA for the most part using the thin or thick where needed. I still reach for the Testors plastic cement when joining larger parts
9. Favorite paint?
I use Model Master enamels and metalizers. I've used them for so long I know how to get fairly consistent results when airbrushing
10. What started you as a modeler?
My older brother sparked my interest. My parents gifted me the Revell model of the month club membership for a few years when I was young and the interest has never left.
