Indeed. Each sub component, landing gear, cockpit, propellor, etc. is a complete and completed project in itself before being incorporated into the main build.

That's kind of the philosophy going into each build but it's hard to maintain that kind of focus throughout. Sometimes you just want to paint the tires black, wheels silver and be done with it! But the HD props are something to behold and treating them like a model unto itself seems only natural.

I finally got the radiator flaps and cowling into place. It took some force and fidgeting to get it to seat right. The clear parts have also been glued into place.

With all of the forward fuselage components in place, I wanted to check to make sure the HD prop looks ok when mounted.

The canopy frames were painted in RLM 66 Dark Grey from the outside.

The cowling has been primed with Mr Surfacer 1200. The painting process can now begin!

John, I am always fascinated by your build narratives, step by step explanation. So much to learn abnd cram into an old brain.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Well, I am not so old as I think you are. I can still remember why I walked into a room...as long as it is the bathroom. And, I know how much an ear of corn costs!

Yep! I remember phones like those!

We are modelers - the same in spirit, in hunger to insanely buy newly released kits, hustlers in hiding our stash from our better halves and experts in using garbage as replacements for after-market parts.

We had a wall mount rodery phone like that in the kitchen with a extra long cord so mom could talk on the phone to her friends while cooking. They had it all the way up to the local phone company no longer supported it and she upgraded to a cordless touchtone. Now my parents don't even have a house phone just their cellphones.
