Nope! I still have to paint “265” on each side freehand and I want no wings in my way.

Gettin’ there! Wings often get in the way.

Clint, I am excited to paint those numbers, too. Maybe a slight touch of masochism is involved on my part. I think the tail is going to require one fix - the lowest edge I painted green and it should be sky. Not a big deal but a fix is a time suck, even if it’s just a quick mask, blow and go, at this point. Also there are two areas of the initial factory blue sprayed on the tail which were marked for moving parts and left masked by the factory all the way. To do those I would have to mask those areas, mask the green spots as well which may not happen. Stuart, thank you sir and Lyle, thank you; I believe wings are overrated.

Are you sure about light blue areas on the tail being masked off at the factory? From the photos, it look like those lighter areas have been applied in the field. Probably some sort of primer to mark repair locations. In the photo below, I see these marks on both horizontal tail surfaces, along the root of the starboard tail surface, on the port side of the rudder and on both wing tops around the ailerons. Might even be two different colors. Makes sense to paint them as they occurred... after the factory tail finish, as shown in the photo you posted at the bottom.

Main body is looking good Bruce, so did you paint the wings solid black? Is that why we can't see them here?
