Yes, it has been down for some time. The only thing I can think of is removing the decal with a piece of tape may have loosened the paint. Just another thing to fix.

Thank you, Stuart! They came out quite good. I’m pleased. I am hoping that fixing the paint won’t be a booger.

I used to get paint lift from Tamiya paints on a fairly regular basis. For me, I traced it to grease from my fingertips as it seemed to occur in the areas where I'd hold the model most frequently... mid fuselage... mid wing, etc. I'm more conscious of that now and that has seemed to improve the situation, at least for me.

Great job on the masks! Once you start using the Portrait cutter, you will discover more and more uses for it. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

I've had similar happen and came to the same conclusion. After all major assembly is done I wipe the surface down with 91% rubbing alcohol and use them blue disposable gloves from harbor freight while painting or handling untill the gloss coat goes down.

That could be, as well. This has been bandied a lot. Thank for pushing me to try making the masks.

I have gloves, but they bug me. Make my hands sweat. I do not usually wipe the model down before clear coating, but I may give it a try! Thanks.

The modeling gods are having a field day with me these days. Carlos and I had a short discussion regarding being a crap magnet...I am a rare earth crap magnet. No ordinary magnets for me! Wiped down the side to get ready to repaing...guess what came off as well. Not a biggie, though. I think it was a bit too low on the side. Tail surface is repainted. I spent a few minutes fretting about pulling the tail markings off when masked ...duh. They are painted on, Doofus.

I went ahead and took off the upper wing decals. I hope the frisket film I have will work. Out of kabuki paper sheets an the Oramask has yet to arrive.

Look for some white cotton dress gloves from a uniform store. I had to buy a pair for academy graduation and never wore them again in 31 years on the job. They are far more comfortable on the hands than vinyl or latex gloves and only cost a few bucks. And you can wash and reuse them over and over.

Lyle, I have to admire you greatly for hanging in there and continuing to improve this model despite the issues. I also commend you for making the masks; that is something I feel I could never do. Most impressive work Lyle; keep it coming, you got this!
