Sounds good Mike. I can’t wait to see the markings go on.

John, one will be a CAG jet for VFA-151 Vigilantes. The other I'm not 100% sure yet but probably just a Low-Viz line jet.
Nice. I'm glad the Navy went back to making the CAG jets with some color

Yeah those look pretty. But the model companies and after market decals folks tend to concentrate on the CAG markings and ignore the line aircraft that are the ones going down range, getting shot at, and killing bad guys. I like and prefer the low viz stuff.

Sometimes. Lately they've had a little color to none. When VFA-151 transitioned to the Super Hornet they had the Hi-Viz paint scheme and then suddenly it was gone. Even the Jolly Rogers have a subdued CAG jet.

Yeah.... the 80s were colorful but now heading into the new era, most schemes are subdued.

Actually by 1980 most squadrons had at least gone to overall gull gray, some with full color markings, some subdued. By the mid 80s everything was low viz. There was that time the big bad Red Bear out there to be dealt with after all.

Well they started back with the all Low-Viz again recently.

Back to the builds. Under the nose, Revell made small indentations where the gun gas vents are. These are not recessed and are flush with the rest of the fuselage. I scribed the areas and I'll sand the areas flush. Oh and the bigger ones are for pitot tubes and antenna.

Thanks Lyle! It's not moving as fast as it seems. I haven't started on the nose of the other Super Hornet yet. It's slow but steady at least.

Slow is okay. Bet you didn't just snap a wing of a Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter in half. :bag:
