Well, let’s see here. I might as well get started priming and painting the landing gear and gear bar doors, and propeller. I have just a few very minor fills to do, due to error on the part of the modeler (me) and not due to kit faults, and then I guess prime her and start painting! WOOOOHOOOO!!!!!!

First thing’s first though, this was a good time to break out my Tamiya weathering kit. Not too bad. These’ll look nice under the open cowl flaps:

HA! She also didn’t bat an eye when I bought another kit because I’ve been enjoying this one so much! I’m a lucky man.

Did you go with a F4U-1D for a little variety? Or stick with the -1A?

And she’s probably smart enough to realize money you spend on this Hobby is better than money spent out doing things involving beer and the boys....

My wife is the same way. I think it helps that she's an artist and she knows that this is my escape from work. She's extremely supportive of my hobby.

Carlos, I guess “officially” this is a 1A kit, but as I’ve noticed during this build there are many parts which are unused. I’m thinking a modeler could indeed build either/or with this kit. For me, I started kicking around the idea of buying it again because I couldn’t make up my mind which aircraft to build, “Ole 122” or “BUG HOG.” I picked “Old 122” for this build and decided I’d do “BIG HOG” in 1:32. And then I saw how much that 1:32 kit costs... everybody has a budget threshold I suppose LOL ... Anyway, I ended up buying the same 1:48 kit, and at the moment I’m just happy knowing I have another one in my stash because I really like this kit that much. It has been a very enjoyable build so far.

Also yes, it’s better that I spend my pocket money on models, as opposed to the alternative HAHAAA!

Medicman- yessir. Having wives who support our endeavors and want to see us do our best at what we’re interested in are awesome and a blessing. Keepers my man. Keepers.
