You are far too kind! I thank you for such supportive words. JKim talked me into it. I already had the tools, so it was just a matter of doing it.

That's really strange that the Tamiya paint came off like that. I've never had that happen with Tamiya. Now Vallejo is a different problem all together.

I was surprised. I have ordered some inspection gloves...maybe that will help

Cut the masks I needed this afternoon. I will apply and paint in yet morning.

I thought the Silhoutte cutter went belly up. Turned it on and it just sat there buzzing, vibrating..acting like it was somehow jammed. Took a couple of screws out to see if I could pop off a cover. Shook it to listen for rattles. Heard a piece rolling around and out fell a ratchet cap. ..a small piece that you ca use to adjust the blade. I have no idea how that got in there. Anyway, all is well.

Lessons from an exhausted, tired, sore, stiff old man this morning...
1. Read labels on paint jars
2. I really do not like gloss white paint. it is from the devil
3. Do not, I repeat, do not shake the airbrush with paint in the cup.
4. Always assume there will be overspray. There usually is.

Anyway, first application was applied. It just looked really funny...pulling back to the cut edges, not covering....let it dry and not much better. Then I looked at the jar. It was gloss white, not flat white. (X-2 vs XF-2). Took a damp paper towel and removed all I could and resprayed with the flat. Not great, but as they say down here, "Goodernuf".





Not 100% sure of the positions, but, "goodernuf".

First impressions of the Oramask material....
1. It is thin. Nice.
2. peels easily from the backing
3. lays down pretty well
4. pretty transparent on the surface

What is the Sea Blue base coat? What sort of paint? Is it more Tamiya?

yes. Tamiya Acrylic XF-17.

Not to nit pick, but there's areas that look like they weren't painted or the paint didn't spray right. The inner wings around the wing root and the horizontal tails.
