Bulk of assembly painting is now complete. Onward to the detail work. See list on the previous page for my specific progress!

Looks like you got 'er in place alright Bruce! Very well done bro.
IMO you've gotta have nerves of
steel to work with this scale.

I had a hard time processing the term "assembly painting".

Was it assembled and painted? Or was it assembled and ready for painting? As always... eager to see the results of this unorthodox build!

Thank you both sincerely. I know you care about model building so much and that really matters; and it’s rare and I look forward to catching up on your kits - and seeing the start of a new Gustav from you John! Wow! Things are going gangbusters! After UV Flat Clear and prior to further fuselage painting, i.e. my progress from last night.
I’m proud of the edge of the camo, not yet on your level but still that’s brushwork. Three tries on the edges.

Amazing work Bruce! I also love the cigar joke! Hilarious! Now if I could just get more of my projects further along as well.
Keep plugging Bruce! I am so looking forward to seeing this finished!

Thank you so much, Floki and Duke. Like Mustang and John, Stikpusher, Bolleken, Stuart, Kari and Medic, you guys live and breathe styrene! I didn’t forget Mostrich, Lyle and Thomas Mayer but my mind is a bit blunted. Progress has been made.

You're not just building and painting that kit. You're creating, forming, sculpting it. It's an absolute joy to follow along.

Bruce (and so many others here), you build models. I build toys.

Torben! Thank you so much, my friend. I don’t feel worthy of your fine words, but I am extremely grateful for them and take them in gladly as my day has gone in an unforeseen direction!
I was working this morning on the model when I heard water splash out of my kitchen sink. When I went to look I saw that both basins were overflowing with dirty water in the kitchen. Then I saw more water - a lot more - on the floor to the bathroom. I went in the bathroom and the same thing was happening in there. I decided to prioritize and bail out the kitchen first. I was wearing socks and the water was filthy gray which are the kind of details one recalls most strongly during pressure driven moments. I was using a ridiculous little bucket which I use for model building. I start bailing the water and running it to the front door and out the door into the dead patch of ground with only a single weed growing in the center of it. Again with the details, but whatever, this was stressful!
At the back of my mind I keep thinking, “I’ll never make the deadline now,” which is true because the plumbers have in effect taken over my kitchen and bathroom and I am in my bedroom looking at reference photos of Late War 109s, and they do not know what they are doing and I only know what I am not doing which is finishing my model. Also I would really like a hot shower. I did change socks, though, so there is that.
A better shot of the tail camo.
