Bruce,

Yep, the no odor is a huge plus, as is the scribability. I did a CA fill on my Corsair, and was happy with the results. But no scribing was necessary. For jobs like that that’ll need scribing, I’ll use Milliput. Another plus for me is the dilutability. That’s huge.

Duke,

Thank you so much! And LOL yeah, the Firefly has its sights set on old Fritz and his StuG, for sure.

I worked some more on the StuG this afternoon. Mostly just attaching tools, and doing some subtle filters with the oils. The decals are calming down, which makes me happy. I did some reading, and one method of dealing with carrier film is, apparently- swabbing the decals with white (mineral) spirit. I’m thinking the reason that most of the time my oils have a “calming” effect on uncooperative decals is the thinner I use, Mona Lisa mineral spirits. They’re not 100% where I want them yet, but they’re looking exactly the way my decals on the Panzer as well as my Emil and Corsair did before I flat coated them. The flat coat *should* get them up to where I want them to be, based on prior experience.

That's looking great Kenny have you tried perfect plastic putty? It's great for everything but wide deep fills. Milliput is great too and I always keep some around I just don't like the cure time on it. I really like how it sets up rock solid.

The Sturm has turned out very nicely. I like how the decal carrier issue has resolved itself. The tank design is very futuristic looking... almost sci-fi in a James Cameron sort of way. Love the slight sheen on the shovel blade!

Solvaset and white spirit, my man. That got the job done! And thank you for the recommendation!

I’m wondering what would happen if I went back and treated the decals on my AT-ST with that stuff....? I mean, it’s painted and washed and sealed in flat clear but still....?

You could give it a shot but just be advised that Solvaset is pretty "hot". I wouldn't let any large drop of it sit on the model for very long as it will eat into paint finishes. Ask me how I know! :headslap:

Started painting the Firefly!

This is probably going to take a really long time.

Finished the turret tonight:
