I started the paper assembly last night after I got home from a prior engagement so I only got about a hour on it. The instructions are laid out well and there just a few things that I have to go over to comprehend.

I think I'm gonna freakin' pass tha hell out. OMG that's some fantastic detail on this beast.

Oh my gosh, don't do that!
It seemed like I should have gotten a ton of work done this weekend, and I did, it just doesn't show. I started the paper bracing replacement and it took some time to figure out what glue to use and how to work it so I didn't have a glue bomb.




I did find that once I had everything attached (I finally decided on thin CA) and connected to the hull, I saw that some of the paper parts didn't meet up with the hull like they should. So I went back, cut off the the paper parts and reattached them against the hull. It looks like I still have four to relocate.
You can see what I'm talking about in the picture.



I attached some AM ladders here and there and had to order a larger assortment as most of the areas where ladders are attached are not standard sizes. As usual, I had to look through all 4 of the PE instructions for each part to see if they were replaced, added to, modified or just attached as is. So after some filling, sanding, cleaning, modifying and replacing, here is the pic I took of this weekend work. You might be able to see the two signal cannons on the upper deck. The deck that will be installed above and behind will have the 25mm AA guns.



Things are now going to pick up speed as I'm getting the process down. One year left and counting. Also went for a 3 mile hike yesterday and took my dog with us.
Here I just finished giving him a bath and he didn't want to get close to me with the hose in my hand LOL.

That dog has his head screwed on lol!

Thanks Stuart. LOL, yes, he's saying "you said we were done, I'm not getting close to that thing!"

Anyway, I started the the port fore 25mm AA platform last night. Tonight I'll attach the support trusses and build up some 25mm twin guns with PE. I did add some ladders (not in the pic) in the wee area just under the platform. I also relocated the braces that needed to snug up against the hull on the other platforms.

This just gets better all the time and so far out of my league, it is in another galaxy...amazing work.

Some more work last night. I worked on the braces to the 25mm gun platform but there is some filling I need to clean up before I take a pic of it. I opened up the Infiny twin 25mm gun set and started assembly. I believe each of these guns (14) may just take an evening to build. This one is only half built.

Infiny Models are not for the faint of heart.

Wow. I think that PE would test my limits.
