Albion Alloy brass tubing test - 1,7mm dia. (I’m holding the cylinder in a pair of tweezers, just to be clear.)





I really “handled” the edge a bit roughly after making the cut with a saw. I have to make eight. I have to think about this. Is it worth the doing... and the redoing when inevitably I don’t get the edges right... and redoing when the angle is off?

You can hollow out the kit parts OR you can cut the brass tubing a little bit longer than needed. Once cut, you can file down the angled cut by rubbing it against a sanding stick. I usually clean up the burred edges of my brass gun barrels this way.

You’re on the right path here Bruce! As long as they’re not “fish tail” type exhaust stacks, or squared off, it’s not an overly difficult task to make tube replacements.

I am sorry I am so late. I found out my girlfriend’s mom has Covid-19 and my girlfriend may also have this. I hate being bummed out and far away. Regardless let me thank in order first Mustang. Joe, following your superlative builds has made me appreciate and become better at finishes. Medic, likewise following your work has improved my ability to address fit issues overall. Stuart, I think following you has impacted both my finishing skill and my willingness to pick up a paint brush to paint a model. Duke! You always inspire me with your incredible ideas and dedication. Your own way of describing your process has made me better understand fundamentals, and for that I am truly grateful.

This is a very rough sketch I normally would never show you guys. There are many mistakes but I also had some Eureka moments. The prominent buttons in the center are adjustment knobs, which I didn’t know before.
