Pretty elaborate installation. I love the scale model of facility with the V2s being staged and warheads being added. Thank goodness it never went operational!

Yes Lyle, build to be a huge assembly line of V-2 rockets, 24 hrs / day, just keeping to launch them towards one target, London.

Thanks Mark. The V-1 launch site we visited was also very interesting to see, most of the bunkers intact but the nature had started to take over the place. For example the launch ramp looked liked this:

Oh yes! It was breath taking. Especially knowing that most of the digging was done by hand ( slave workers, war prisoners etc). Made you really silent for a moment.

Great project, Kari! Since my visit of the Maginot Line I'm totally fascinated by large fortification sites from both World Wars.
Here's a picture I took around 2006 with my analog camera. Processed by myself with sepia effect.

It's actually crazy how much "left overs" there is, especially in France and along the coast!

Great picture, sepia effect makes it one inch more authentic !

Work on both the carriage and the V-1 has been ongoing. Not too complicated "assembly" work. However, because of not 100% good fit, a lot of sanding is needed, and especially with the fuselage seams.
Pity the fuselage seams don't follow the real size V-1 seams, which are very rough in reality.

But that sanding is sort of relaxing thing to do, slowly but surely!

Really interesting Kari - fascinating to see the actual fortifications and launch sites. The actual damage done by V-1s is still visable too - There's a terrace of houses where my mother in law grew up in Gosport that has a large gap in it. The gap used to be a house that was a obliterated by a V-1 and the never rebuilt it. It's a public garden now.

V-1 is waiting for the moment I will dig out my paintbooth, but I think that might happen pretty soon, because...
