Yep - that's the one. As I said, when I finally get around to building a car that'll be the one - a very cool looking beast.

I have to admit I know nothing about cars or car kits, so seeing your builds has been a bit of an eye opener as to what can be done.

So that gets my vote for the 429!

Scale Plastic Automobile Modeler?

You know that's something I never thought of...... . You could make it an all in one and advertise that some. I know some guys that would be willing to give that a shot in the automotive realm you know.

I can see it now ...Scale Plastic Aircraft and Auto Modeler.....sounds spiffy!

That's right.....I wonder if it can be changed to keep the same acronym....Scale Plastic ........ Modeler. Lemme see who I can call up. No worries, I may be able to get some folks here.

I built that '33 Willys Coupe back in my day. Never was crazy about the front tires on that one either. Of course back then I had scores of different tires, wheels and a bucket of various car parts - engines, valve covers, shocks, you name it, I had it all that I saved over the years. Until about 5 years ago, I tossed them all away thinking I was never coming back to this hobby. Now I regret I did.

Man do I ever hear what you're sayin' there Tom! For about 12 bucks you can find these right off the bat and the skinnies in these packs are da bomb.



What I've been guilty off too is going to Hobby Lobby with that 40% off coupon and buying complete automotive kits and gutting them of the engines, wheels and tires and whatever else you can use out of them and neatly categorizing the spare parts in those little plastic containers with all the little compartments and then tossing the rest of the kit. After a while you start learning what kits have the most usable items/ cool wheels and tires and which ones don't. Sounds like a waste till you break it all down to what it would cost to acquire all those parts individually. I have a lot of nice wheels and tires, motors, suspension parts, interior parts, etc. to make about any lousy kit into something attractive and worth lookin' at.

You see - I never thought about AM when it came to car kits - I think it's really cool that you can get all this stuff, wheels, resin engines etc.
