First progress in weeks, I masked the canopy.



In fact I already glued it on the airframe. Things are going quite fast, just a few more details and this baby is ready for paint! I want to use the "black base" technique on this build. So this is not going to be one of my rattle can builds, I need my airbrush for this one.

However, I do have to "overhaul" my compressor because I have not used it in 4 years. So that is next in line before I can proceed with this build.

The canopy is on, so I guess this one is ready for paint. But I really need to fix that compressor first.

And the compressor is fixed! I sprayed a black base, the od/ng scheme will be shaded because of the black base. The coverage was not complete but I guess good enough to be over sprayed.

And here is my first attempt at the black base/dual diffusion technique.
I sprayed on two coats of olive drab (tamiya xf-62) first a normal diluted one then I added some yellow to lighten it. It worked reasonably but I think I need another airbrush to use this technique to the fullest My Badger 200 is just not up to the task.

Finally, more progress: I sprayed the wheel wells and gear doors zinc chromate yellow. My new H&S airbrush give me enough control to not mask the wheel wells.



I also sprayed the prop white.

Finally some progress to report. I sprayed the underside. First time that I used Gunze paint it worked perfectly.



The demarcation line was hard on the actual aircraft so I used Tamiya tape for that.
