semi-gloss? I add Future to the MM Acryls to aid in paint flow and adhesion. The paint ends up with a semi-gloss sheen

Cool Idea with the Future I never tried, although I typically use enamels,, it's getting harder to find them around here. Bird is looking top notch!

I wanted to do this up as a bird from Desert Storm, so that meant I had to piece together the kits' decals. Old as they were, the decals did not want to come off the backing and neither did they want to stick to the model!! Luckily, the white glue mix helped solve the silvering problem....

Looking very good, can hardly wait to see when the canopy masking is removed!
I am really fond of that semi-gloss work, must also put in my list to mix future in the paint

How is the "white glue mix"-thing done ?

The glue mix is a tip I picked up from one of the members of my ipms club. You add a bit of water to white glue (like Elmer's school glue), until it is a consistency of heavy cream.

The mix is used as a setting solution for the decals, as the glue sucks the decal to the surface, fills air bubbles, and dries flat.

I've had really good luck with the mix when it comes to old decals or decals with a lot of carrier film.

you dip the decal in water. While the decal is getting loose, you add a small puddle of glue mix on the model where you want the decal to go. The glue mix should be thick enough so that it doesnt drip all over the place. Once the decal is loose, slide it onto the puddle and gently smooth it down with a q-tip.

That sounds like an excellent tip! I might have to try that. I was decaling a Huey yesterday and I had the same problem with the decals not wanting to come loose off the backing paper. I soaked them for almost an hour. Finally, they came off. They were original decals from the ancient Hasegawa kit.

I'm looking forward to seeing more.
