Thanks guys. I am gonna start on the final construction bits tomorrow I think. It's been a fun learning project along the way.

Well, I have been nickle and diming progress on this build over the past week or so and taking photos along the way. This evening I was finally able to get them uploaded... so here we go

I attached the radiator lines and positioned them so they would sit properly once the upper wing was in place





once they had dried overnite, I cleaned up the split seam and painted the lines





then it was time for a dry brushing of metallic colors over the black base on the radiator





and I painted the prop retaining plate



and finally I glued the upper wing in place







after the wings had dried I added teh landing gear struts





once that had all dried a test fit of the prop and wheels



I need to do touch ups on the areas affected by gluing and paint the landing gear struts, then it will be time for a coat of Future for the decals to go on...

Well you heard Joe on Friday nite. By all accounts, this is the worst 1/48 biplane kit out there... Lol! In many respects I have to agree. It certainly is the worst in my stash. I suppose that's why I started here- learn hard.

sometimes its these really old crappy kits you build, that makes you appreciate how far the industry as come.

Exactly! One of these days I'm gonna pick up the Eduard 1/48 kit of this and use the spare decals from this kit on the Eduard Weekend Edition boxing for just such a comparison.

Yeah, Joe would know. It;s good that you get your practice on a rough, poorly molded kit like this. You finish this up to a high standard and you'll easily surpass it on a much nicer kit. Way to go.

That would be a great article for the IPMS newsletter once you do the comparison build.

Mark, I can do that one day. Gotta get the Eduard kit first though. Perhaps with that kit I need to check to see if the neighborhood hobby shop up the street will carry thru on their word and special order kits for me. They are mostly RC, but they have a plastic scale model aisle, better prices than Brookhurst (yeah not too hard to do), and offered to special order any models from mainstream companies when I asked about that.
