Yeah, what was going on? Did it explode or something??

Sorry to learn about your airbrush issue to put it mildly; I remember my Dad using expression, "I need the right tool... I hate when I don't have the right tool for the job." Your issues put that in mind, because he was red-faced and probably if I wasn't around he would be swearing heavily at the struggle he was having. Best wishes to you, sir.

The thing just crapped out. I know that the paint/thinner ratio was the same, as it was the same as I always use. All the same as I used on the Intruder, and I had no issues there. For some time, it wouldn't atomize the paint and it would just shoot out little droplets....when it would atomize properly, I couldn't get a consistent spray. At the pressure I usually spray at, I'd just get a random spray of paint. I'd have to go with "ramming speed" to get any kind of consistency, and that would spray like a pulse jet. I had the same issue a couple months back, but was able to correct it with parts from the others that had gone bad....no joy this time around. I tried every combination...new tips, needle, several major cleanings.
Throwing it away is no great loss. It's a $20 Harbor Freight airbrush. I don't expect them to have a long life. I build a LOT of models (30-40 a year)...if I get 2 years out of a $20 airbrush, I'm not that mad!

Re: Quadruple Jet Threat
I just caught up reading all of this terrific build/ builds in progress here and all I can say is that you must have the most superior organizational skills I've ever heard of. Two builds at once is almost impossible for me due to organization of all the parts and to not get them mixed up. You da man and these are looking great bud. Terrific work!!

It's tough...really tough. I have pretty much completely lost interest in building models...the issues lately have not helped at all!Paul wrote:That is rocking stuff, Jeremy. Keep the zen flowing.
I'm kinda burned out. It's all I've been doing for the last 5 months. Work season is coming quickly...I can hear the clock ticking. At this point, I'm pretty much just forcing myself to do it.

Man I'm glad to say I haven't made it to that point yet Jeremy. Hang in there pal. Till then, I'll be watching with great interest.Fermis wrote:It's tough...really tough.
