In that particular field, keeping that sort of information about ones career confidential makes sense. Certain foreign countries may want that particular expertise and use various methods to obtain such.

MORE BODY WORK

the wrap around vaulted windscreen shape has been doggin' me

Image

i finally added a thin piece of brass wire formed to shape this

Image

the overview — also the spot on the hood which i still need to polish out
must find a plastic safe polishing compound
any ideas??

Image

photo i already posted — but is the best example of the shape
the door panels have an aluminum channel to hold perspex
the windscreen wraps around from the front to the sides
this was exceptionally hard for me to suss out

Image

i don't often post someone else's work
but this is a great build
captures the aggressiveness
it's interesting to see a different approach/same subject

So here's where you've been hiding out! Very cool stuff going on and it looks like your brain muscles are being worked out big time for this one.

SCULPTING A BUCK FOR THE SHIELD

mark ii version of the vaulted windshield
milliput windshield form

Image
Image

there's a lil' slump on the side due to gravity / open cockpit
but that should not affect the curvature
or should it / does it

Use the Novus polishing system but not that nasty polishing cloth that they provide. Instead , purchase a chamois from your local auto parts store. You can't get much softer than cow skin dude.

Link to the Novus website so you'll know what your working with: https://www.novuspolish.com/

and were to buy it a little cheaper: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOVUS-7136-Pla ... SweW5U3QxW

LOL, thanks for the advice, Joe.

I am looking forward to your next project. So much of what we do as modelers, our artistry if I may be permitted to use art without sounding like a pretentious gasbag, derives from capturing painted effects on surface.

So very interesting, Bruce. What is the plan here? Some sort of vacu-forming process using the Milliput shape as a form?
