I have a soft spot for those cold war Soviet giants. Maybe some day there will be one in quarterscale.
And of course an extra room for me to display them...

The Tu-22 is one sexy looking airplane and you managed to put it in scale!

Trying something different. Using pastels to create different panel shades on the Tu-22.

Have only done a handful of panels. It is somewhat subtle. Not quite sure what to think of it yet. :?:

Was having problems with photobucket for several days, so now this is the status of the pancake.

Image

The wet look is from the decal set i was using.

It was fun cutting the slot out of the decal. I couldn't cut it out after the fact because i need that section to put on the covers for the slot. So the problem was how to cut it out beforehand.

My solution was to make a copy of it on my copier;

Image

I them taped this to the model cut out the slot with an xacto blade.
I then cut notches out so i could line it up on top of the decal;

Image

Then using a straight edge and blade carefully cut the slot out of the decal and saved it for later use.
