Truth, Carlos. Sincerely. The kit is ridiculously over developed! Maybe the designers want the model builder to spend a lot of time with gluing sides together? I certainly did.
I thought I was pretty good at closing seams based on ye old AMT-ERTL Star Trek models. Honestly, they could mold a tub and attach the sides. I resorted to a copious amount of CA and styrene dust, too. I still see daylight through the joins. Hopefully I will end up with a solidly formed shell after filling and priming.
Here is a later model and a modern restoration, with very interesting textures and tones to its primered sections. Would a field applied camo wrap around beneath the vehicle? I am thinking about leaving the bottom factory gray.
