Paint looks great, and you already planned out for all possibilities which puts you ahead of the game here. Great work to date. No B.S. Tank looks great!

Gracias, Bruce! This has been a lot of fun to work on so far. And I’m exited to get to the dry brushing and piles and stuff. Oh and the mud! I’m gonna put a little mud on it and stuff too!

A closet ukulele metalhead comes to mind when I see this pic. :giggles: :giggles: :giggles:

I listen to a wide range of music depending on my moods I'll listen to anything from Benny Goodman to AC/DC and 80s music.

Great update Kenny! This tank doesn't really need the chipping, so the other enhancements you'll be doing with really bring this to life. I also listen t music in my Hobby Room. I have a playlist on my phone that consists of 70's and 80's classic rock and roll, as well as other songs I enjoy. I plug that into the speaker I have (which also charges my phone) and rock away while I work on things. Dean Martin was one of the greats indeed. I have a DVD of the original Ocean's Eleven where he sings at least three full songs.

Looking forward to seeing more.

Kari,

Thank you :-)

Mr. Black Sheep,

Yeah buddy, talk about finding my instrument and that instrument being NOT stereotypical to a guy like me at all! I grew up on thrash, death metal, and then went onto punk and hardcore and stayed there for a really long time before branching out into other stuff. And I listen to all kinds of different stuff nowadays along with all my old mainstays.

Duke,

Yup. I gotta have my music when I’m building. Have to. And it varies all the time. Could be Dean Martin today, 80’s hair bands or even 80’s pop tomorrow, Django Reinhardt the next day and after that- who knows!

Speaking of building, I got the paint on the rear and the lower hull today on my lunch break. Holy cow, that went fast!

Here she is:

So, shoot, I guess I’ll clear coat her tomorrow, and get to the decals then then dry brushing.

I did some touch ups and threw another heavily-thinned blend coat on top just to tamp-down some of the variation. I want the paint to have some character but not look too terribly worn since there’s no chipping. I think it came out good:

Ken, I started writing about music then stopped suddenly with the thought, “This is about a tank!” Hah! Lives blend together. Interests lead us down unusual streets at times. My buddy’s guitar collection:

We talked about your Martin yesterday!!

Hahaaa they do, don’t they?

Your friend has a great collection of guitars. If I could afford it, I’d have a guitar collection and a ukulele collection too.

As to the Martin, that’s far and away the best soprano ukulele I’ve played yet, and I’ve tried many of them. Even this particular Martin uke of mine, which actually isn’t made of wood but rather Formica. That was a turnoff to me at first, but I gotta tell ya, once I got it tuned-up and played it, I started enjoying it right away. It’s every bit as good as their other models, and sounds perfect to me in terms of how a Hawaiian soprano uke should sound. And the jazz stuff I’m experimenting with leaning sounds good on it. I’d buy another Martin for sure. No question.

Alright! Earlier this morning the Panzer got a clear coat, and then this evening after the babies went to bed, it got decals.

So there we go! If the weather abides tomorrow, I’ll give it a coat of Mr. Hobby Flat Clear, and then get going on the dry brushing and washes and stuff once that’s all dry and set up. Also- I’ll be working on finishing up the wheels.
