Mustang: Thanks for following along this is the best Tamiya kit I've ever seen and Tamiya makes excellent kits to begin with. In fact something I've never seen before they actually have part of the clear canopy merged with the grey styrene for the sides something I've never seen before. I'll post photos of them in the morning after work.

Bruce: Thank you for the photos once again that will help me make the rear of the engine convincingly busy. I'll send you a few links for books related to your Butcher bird here in a bit I had to look through mine and pick out ones that was relevant to the A type.

Excellent work on the Storch, Floki. Quite a good kit.

One of the most spectacular operations this type of plane was involved was Unternehmen Eiche (operation oak).
That story is worth to take a look at. The pilot must've had some balls!

Yes already a dangerous mission for the pilot then to be overloaded by Skorzenys demand to go along made it almost impossible.

A bit more work on the engine, added more wiring to the rear of the block, also added the exhaust and exhaust crossover that Tamiya had left out.


Also here is a shot of how Tamiya merged grey and clear styrene all on one part.

I really like what you have done with the engine.

It is a great kit and one of my late father’s favourites. He would always ask if I had started it. Sadly he passed before I could but it will make the bench this year hopefully.

I'm sorry to hear that. My father was in the 1st Air Cav and I have a 1/35th Dragon Huey that I want to build for him before its to late hes on his 3rd fight with cancer right now but looks to be kicking its ass too with a new cancer drug.

Got a few things to show I've just been cleaning up parts and filling ejector pin marks. I did get a coat of future put on the canopy, I have a big med bottle that I keep my future in since I only use it for dipping canopys. I don't see how some people can get this stuff to work as a all over clear coat I've tried. Any way all the glass got two dips except for the clear fused to the grey I got that with a soft brush since I didn't want it on the grey parts. It evened out very well got a place that has one wrinkle in it but it's not noticeable.

Sorry for the bad photo I took it left handed, I've been playing guitar for years now and can move all over the neck no problem, my left eye is also stronger so I shoot left handed but put something like a pen, hammer or phone in my left hand and it's like what do you want me to do with this.

To get back on track after I dip them and wick the excess off I cover them up so they won't get any dust on them, It's just a plastic tote that I keep upside down. Sit any freshly painted piece on the lid then shut the tote down on top of it and you got a dust free place to dry.
