They were separated as I wanted them closed? Maybe a good idea, maybe not!

My basement and thus, the Piddle Palace, is not heated. It was near 70 F today, but the Mr. Dissolved Putty needed help. So, we hung it out to dry!

Got the masks for the model. They are from Flying Leathernecks Decals, a company I've not used before. Pulled the first piece from the sheet and there was no sticky. Pulled another and there was, pulled a third and no sticky. Turns out some of the backing came with those pieces and with a little help from Mr. X-acto, I was able to peel away the offending piece.



Masks on, with some Future to seal the edges.




Have some clean up and re-attaching to do and may be ready for some primer.

Thanks, gentlemen. Keeps me headed forward. I've been taking it very,, very slow. One reason, don't want to rush it, another reason is I'm trying to go through the stash and all the other detritus and put it in some sort of order.

Not much of an update. Been working on all the "stuff" in the room. I move it to the left.....then move it to the right. Sort of like the Hokey-Pokey. I've about decided I need another small file cabinet or less stuff. Anyway, here is a slight update on the A-10. Nothing as cool as what you guys are posting. That is amazing work.

Fired up the airbrush, the Badger Patriot, for the first time in over two years. I did clean it in the ultra-sonic box a few weeks ago. There are some bits of splatter. Not sure why. I'll have to do some researchin' on that electric inter web thing. Basically, sprayed the gloss white in the gear bays, gear doors and struts.







Not at all happy with the wheels. Used Mr. Color Tire Black. Had not been opened in a while. In hindsight - too "gloppy". Should have thinned it. I'll be stripping the wheels and trying again.



Guess what I forgot to include when spraying? Yes, the nose gear strut and nose gear bay....guess I switch to the Iwata a/b and see if that still works.

Also, not happy with the yellow on the boarding ladder. Since i have to display this with the canopy opened, . . Yellow is not orangy enough. I'll add a drop of orange and try again.



And, I've managed to misplace the nose wheel. Sigh. I've found a couple that will work. One is a bit smaller and one is a bit larger.

Any progress is good to see. As for the airbrush if it was cleaned really good before check the needle make sure it's straight. Just the other day I took some 2000 grit sand paper to the needle on my Iwata it had just a very tiny spot of dried paint that couldn't really be seen unless under the magnifier.

I'll try those ideas. I've already wiped the needle down with lacquer thinner. Thanks for the info.
