Mucho gracias, fellas. I appreciate that!
I reckon it’s time to get on that panel line filling. That does make me a little nervous, but I’ve had good success with precision fills here lately and with that Mr. Surfacer 400 I don’t see this being too much of a whopper of a big deal. I’ll get started on that tomorrow.

Round 1 of filling panel lines on the wings is done:
...I applied Mr. Surfacer 500 to the panel lines with a silicon brush. Just kinda brushed it on. Then I applied another coat, dabbing it on. Then let it dry, and after that I wet sanded the seams, and then polished the wings with microfiber pads.
Everything feels nice and smooth, but I’m going to double check all the seams tomorrow just to be safe and re-apply as necessary because as we know, Mr. Surfacer 400 shrinks. Plus I may have missed a spot here and there.

Lyle,
That was purely out of regard to my OCD, as I don’t like the idea of breathing in that dust, and I’ve been in a day long support bridge at work concerning four production servers which took a sh!t and died after having OS kernel patches applied to them LOL so I couldn’t wear my respirator on account of nobody could understand me. It worked pretty doggone well honestly.
Stuart,
Thanks my man! I’m really enjoying this project.
Okay, so! I checked the fills. When I hold the wing under light and tilt it in various ways, those filled panel lines don’t break the light like how panel lines normally do. And they feel smooth under my fingertips. And when I gently run my nail across them, they don’t feel like panel lines, but I do perceive *something*. Could be it’s a micron shy of full *OR* it could be the texture of the Mr. Surfacer 500. I have no idea. This is the first time I’ve done this.
Game plan? As follows:
1. Attach the wings to the fuselage -gotta do that before primer and paint anyway so what the Hell, right?
2. Go ahead and mask and affix the canopy.
3. Shoot Mr. Surfacer 1500 primer at her.
4. Examine and do fill touch-ups if necessary, or not at all in the event that they’re either perfect smooth or it gives the effect of weathered putty-filled panel lines and looks cool.
So there we are! I’ll attach the wings later on.

Looks good! Even if the puttied seams settle a bit and start showing, I wouldn't even sweat it since that probably happened on the real aircraft as well.
