Yeah, I know how that is. Two of my V bombers are on my ceiling already; my Victor is on a top shelf waiting for a new hook to be placed next to the other two. My Nimrod is still waiting to be built; I have no source for the hemp color and was looking to see if any other color could be used.

Beautiful work Martin!

Mark, Humbrol and Gunze both make Hemp in their paint lines. Last I know Brookhurst was still carrying both of those brands.

I definitely know Gunze has it. Because I have it for my Canberra PR.9

Excellent information. I've been using Humbrol more and more lately since I'm out of Testor's airbrush thinner.

I use xtracolor but i believe that hard to get in the US, they have most of the RAF colours. But as mentioned, Humbrol has it as well, 168.

I saw some at Syrcon 2021 this past Sunday. The vendor didn’t have a wide range of colors but looked like a few of certain colors. Tins similar to Humbrol. I thought about picking up a couple colors but passed on them.

Kitlinx is the only supplier I know of in the US. Once in a while Kitlinx can be frustrating to work with, but in the end they have been OK for me.

I did once hear that xtracolor, Humbrol and colourcoats are all made in the same factory. Not sure if true but would explain the tins. And i find they are all very similar to use.

I had hoped to have a bigger update this weekend as i thought the painting would be done. But i had some issues getting the white underside done. I used Humbrol Gloss white but it can out with a yellow tint and i had some runs on the fuselage. I ended up stripping off the white from the fuselage undersid and goin over the whole underneath with Tamiya white. I got the second coat on this morning, so its going to be a while yet before the top side is done what with all the masking and leaving paint to dry. So this is how it loked last weekend ready for primer.

I never have the patience to let gloss white get fully hard, and I always grime the finish handling it. So I do whites as flat coats and get the shine with either a clear coat or a thin gloss white as a finish pass. I think you can end up with a thinner coat of paint with equal coverage that way. I've never tried the Xtracolor white, though. I used Xtracolor Presidential Blue on one of the F-15's and was impressed with it. I understand all of their paints are gloss.
